Department of Homeland Security Investigates Use of Helicopter To Invite Teenage Girl To High School Prom

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol is investigating claims one of its helicopters was used to help a teenager invite his girlfriend to homecoming.

A Department of Homeland Security employee allegedly used a CBP helicopter to hover over his son’s high school in northern Virginia and drop a teddy bear with the invitation last week.

“We are aware of reports that a locally-based CBP helicopter was used improperly by local CBP personnel Sept. 12,” CBP spokesman Michael Friel said.

The pilot who had command of the helicopter was reassigned to administrative duties while CBP investigates the alleged incident.
