Gunman Mistakes Houston For A War Zone, Fires On Ambulance As It Comes To Evacuate Shooting Victim

An ambulance responding to a call about a shooting victim in east Houston Monday night ended up with bullet holes in it.

It happened near North Super and Canal Street. Neighbors say one man was loaded into an ambulance with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Neighbors tell us two men who live nearby got into an argument when one of the men shot the other in a front yard. Details are still sketchy, but it appears that shooter then fired his gun at the ambulance when it arrived on the scene.

From what we could see, there were three bullet holes in the back of the ambulance but neighbors say they heard four shots.

Emergency responders were working on the shooting victim when the ambulance was fired upon, but they weren’t injured.

“I went inside with my kids and took them in and came out. I saw my neighbor falling on the front yard, the front door. She got shot in the leg,” witness Chris Gevara said.

Police say the shooter lives in the area, but he has yet to be caught. A search for his whereabouts is ongoing.
